Common Name The Muna Masdevallia [A town in Peru]

Found in central Peru at elevations around 2400 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical-obovate, subacute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a slender, erect, triquetrous, 4.8" [12 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract in the lower third and has a thin tubular floral bract.
