Common Name The One-Angled Masdevallia

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Peru at elevations around 2000 meters in Amazonas state as a small sized, caespitose, cool to cold growing terrestrial with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly elliptic-obovate, subacute leaf that is gradually narrowed below to the base that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect, congested, successively few flowered, 1.8" to 2.4" [4.5 to 6.5 cm] long inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract below the middle and a thin, imbricating, acuminate floral bract with the flowers held at mid-leaf height.
