Found in Morona-Santiago province of Ecuador at elevations around 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring on a slender, erect, 4.2" [11 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract near the base
