Common Name The Elegant Masdevallia

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in central Peru at elevations of 900 to 1700 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte or terrestrial on higher elevation roadbanks with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below in to the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on a slender, erect, triquetrous, 4" to 4.6" [10 to 11.5 cm] long, simultaneous 2 flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract at the base and tubular, imbricating floral bracts.
