Common Name Burian's Masdevallia [Co-collector of species American current]

Found in Bolivia at elevations around 1500 to 2500 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect, black, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 basal loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, coriaceous, ellitical, acute to subacute, cuneate below into the very elongate, slender, black petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a single flowered, 3.6" [9cm] long inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a sheath above the base.
