Common Name Bennett's Masdevallia [Peruvian Orchid Enthusiast and Discoverer of species Current]

Flower Size 1 1/4" [3 cm]

Found in central Peru at elevations around 780 meters as a warm growing, mini-miniature sized epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apcial, erect, thinly coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, gradually narrowing below into an elongate, cuneate, channelled, petiolate leaf that blooms in the winter on a congested, successively flowered, racemose, slender, triquetrous inflorescence arising from the base of the ramicaul and subtended by a thin bract and carrying tubular, imbricating floral bracts.
