Found in Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 800 to 2200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with slender erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptic-oblong, subacute to acute leaf that is narrowly cuneate below into the indistinct petiolate base and blooms in the summer on a congested, successively single flowered, racmose, 2.4" to 3.2" [6 to 8 cm] long, slender, erect, triquetrous inflorescence arising from the base of the ramicaul and holding the flower at leaf height.
