Found in Costa Rica and western Panama in wet montane forests at elevations of 1130 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cold growing terrrestrial with short, cormous stems enveloped by scarious leaf sheaths and carrying 2, apical, ovate-lanceolate to broadly ovate to suborbicular, acute to acuminate, membraneous, gradually narrowing below in to the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a terminal, erect, short, subumbellate, many flowered, racemose inflorescence
