Common Name or Meaning Wendland's Malaxis [German Orchid Collector in Mexico 1800's]

Flower Size 1/4" [8mm]

Found in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama and Venezuela at elevations of 1600 to 2000 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with spherical pseduobulbs enveloped by a net-like whitish sheath and carrying 1 to rarely 2, apical, elliptic, acute gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer, fall and winter on a terminal, erect, 2.4" [6 cm] long, racemose, 5 to 8 flowered inflorescence
