Found in the Dominican Republic in primary forests at elevations around 1500 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect to ascending ramicauls enveloped by 6 to 8, ribbed, microscopically echinate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic-ovate to ovate-triangular, acute, basally rounded into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on 1 to 8, peduncle .75" [1.8 cm] long, rachis 1.08" [2.7 cm] long, adpressed to the leaf, successively single, many flowered inflorescence.
