Found in Valle de Cauca department of Colombia at elevations around 3250 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 6 to 9, dark, lepanthiform sheaths with microscopically echinate margins and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ovate, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a filiform, subcongested, curved, 1.4" [3.5 cm] long, including the .6" [1.5 cm] long peduncle, successively single, several flowered inflorescence arising on the back of the leaf.

"Characterized by the stout ramicauls with dark sheaths, an ovate leaf with a shorter, subcongested raceme of successive flowers. No color notes ae present. The floral parts are glabrous,the dorsal sepal is obtuse while the lateals are acute and diverging. The lobes of the petals are oblong witha marginal angle between them. The blades of the lip are oblong wih the apices embracing the comumn. The appendix is minute." Luer 2007
