Found in Carchi province of Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations around 3100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 3 to 4, ciliate lepanthiform sheaths with oblique apices, and carrying a single, apical, erect, ciliate, subcoriaceous, broadly ovate to round, obtuse, rounded and contracted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, sparsely pubescent, distantly, 1.6" [4 cm] long, successively 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence arising on top of the leaf with long-ciliate floral bracts.
