Common Name The Massif de la Hotte Lepanthes [A mountain range in eastern Haiti]

Found in Dominican Republic in remnant primary broadleaved forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with stout, erect to ascending ramicauls enveloped by 7, articulate, striate and microscopically echinate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, narrowly elliptic, acute, margins sparsely ciliate, acute below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a 1 to 6, erect, .08" [2 cm] long, arising on the back of the leaf, congested, successively single to 24 flowered inflorescence carrying totally purple flowers.
