Found in Haiti and the Dominican Republic in primary mossy forests on ravine walls at elevations around 850 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 3 to 5, ribbed, microscopically echinate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, green-brown above, purple beneath, ovate to sub-orbicular, obtuse, abruptly contracted into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on 1 to 5, shorter than the leaf, arising on top of the leaf, distichous, congested, adpressed to the leaf, successively single, to 25 flowered inflorescence.
