Found in eastern Cuba in the ultramaphic nucleous of northeast Cuba from Sierra de Nipe in Holguin province to Baracoa in Guantanamo province as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clustered, ovate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by imbricating, scarious sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, erect, coriaceous, stiff, linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the later spring on a terminal, erect, slender, distantly several sheathed, to 10.4" [26 cm] long, to 15 flowered inflorescence with ovate, obtuse, concave floral bracts.
