Common Name The Deceiving Elleanthus

Found in Chiriqui Panama in cloud forests on wind swept ridge at elevations of 1750 to 2100 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with few branched stems carrying ovate-lanceolate, acuminate leaves with striate sheaths that bloooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, capitate to subcapitate, many flowered inflorescence with lanceoalte-elliptic, acuminate floral bracts and carrying flowers that are cream colored and the pollinarium is purple.
