Common Name The Sibundoy Dracula [An area in Putumayo Colombia]

Found in Putumayo department southwestern Colombia and in northwestern Ecuador on the eastern slopes of the Andes in cloud forests at elevations of 2200 to 2300 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls with 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, carinate, very narrowly obovate to linear, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a stout, purplish, horizontal to descending, 3.2" to 6" [8 to 15 cm] long, lax, successively few flowered, racemose inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul and carrying a tubular floral bract
