Found in Baracoa Cuba as a large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with a much abbreviated rhizome giving rise to a slender stem enveloped completely by acute, smooth sheaths and carrying up to 7, grass-like, olive green, at the apex of the stem, narrowly linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, much longer than the leaves, several sheathed, to 8.4" [21 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, acute, much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts and carrying showy flowers with a purple lip and cream colored tepals.
