Found in Costa Rica and western Panama in wet montane forests at elevations of 800 to 2400 meters as a medium sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with short stems enveloped by leaf sheaths and carrying many, elliptic to oblanceolate-ligulate, acute to acuminate, membraneous, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms at any time of the year on a terminal, erect, elongate, successively many flowered, racemose inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, entire to lacerate, cucullate floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers
CAUTION!! The photo above is close but not exact to C blephariglottis, as the lip is not visibly acute [it may be apically revolute and so not visble as acute in the photo] at the apex so please use with caution, all other aspects appear correct.
