Common Name The Helmut Cranichis
Flower Size
Found in Haiti on hills at elevations around 1650 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with a few basal, ovate-elliptic, acute to acuminate, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, glabrous, to 12" [30 cm] long, sublaxly many flowered inflorescence with a few leaf-like sheaths and lanceolate, acuminate, externally sparsely hirsute floral bracts.
CAUTION The photo above was taken in the Dominican Republic. I can find no references to its coming from there. All references that I have do not make mention to the apical lobe of the lip so please use with caution. The collection sheet is correct but does not show the flower details. I await better references.
