Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and northern Brazil at elevations of 900 to 1500 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with quadrangular, ovoid, ancipitous pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect then abruptly arching, 10" [25 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence
