Common Name or Meaning The Green Brachionidium

Found in Pasco department of Peru in cloud forests in loose mosses at elevations around 2800 meters as a medium to just large sized, cold growing terrestrial or epiphyte with an erect rhizome, enveloped partially by mucronate sheaths and giving rise to a ramicaul enveloped by 2 tubular, mucronate sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, subcarnose, ovate-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 11 veined, gradually narrowing below into the grooved petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, peduncle .8 to .88" [2 to 2.2 cm] long, 2 flowered, second flower degenerate, inflorescence with free, funnel-shaped floral bracts and carrying a non-resupinate, not widely opening, subcarnose flower.
