Found in Oxapampa Province of Peru in primary forests at elevations around 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a repent rhizome giving rise to ereft, short ramicauls enveloped by 2 sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ovate, acuminate, abreuptly narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, short, single flowered inflorescence
