Found in west central Colombia and Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations around 1100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with an occasionally branching rhizome enveloped by 2 imbricating sheaths and giving rise to suberect ramicauls enveloped by 2 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect to suberect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute to subacute, apiculate, 5 veined, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a slender, erect, .28" [7 mm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramicaul with a bract below the middle and short, acute floral bract and carrying a resupinate flower.
