Common Name or Meaning Diels' Salpistele [German Orchid Collector Ecuador 1900's]

Found in Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations of 2400 to 3400 meters as a small sized, cold growing repent epiphyte with well spaced ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coricaeous, elliptical, acute to subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a suberect, 2.8" [7 cm] long, loose, successively several flowered inflorescence arising from high on the ramicaul and has an oblique acute floral bract.
